Step-by-Step Procedure

Preparation of Brata
Prepare the sacred thread with 10 strands of raw cotton thread and tie 10 knots. Color it yellow with turmeric.

Sankalpa & Invocation
Place the Kalash and invoke Goddess Lakshmi. Place the Brata near the Goddess on a betel leaf.

Offerings (Sodasha Upachara)
Offer 10 flowers, 10 fruits, and 10 Manda Pithas to the Goddess. Worship the Brata with turmeric and flowers.

Reading the Katha
Read the Sudasha Brata Katha which narrates the story of King Vikramaditya and Queen Ratnavati.

Wearing the Brata
After the pooja, tie the sacred thread (Brata) on the right arm (for men) or left arm (for women).
Prayer
"Om Shreem Hreem Kleem Mahalakshmaye Namah"
Meaning: Salutations to the Great Goddess Lakshmi, the bestower of wealth and prosperity.
