Diwali Laxmi Puja
Worshipping Goddess Laxmi on the auspicious night of Deepavali
Materials Required
- Idols of Laxmi & Ganesh
- Red Cloth for Asana
- Lotus & Marigold Flowers
- Silver/Gold Coins
- Sweets (Kheel, Batasha)
- 5 Ghee Diyas & Oil Lamps
- Kumkum, Turmeric, Rice
- Kalash with Water
- Betel Leaves & Nuts
- Fruits & Coconut
Step-by-Step Procedure
Purification & Setup
Clean the house and the puja area. Sprinkle Gangajal. Place a red cloth on a raised platform and install idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Laxmi.
Kalash Sthapana
Place a Kalash filled with water, a coin, betel nut, and mango leaves. Place a coconut on top. This represents the universe.
Ganesh Puja
Always worship Lord Ganesha first. Offer flowers, dhoop, and sweets. Pray for the removal of obstacles.
Laxmi Invocation
Invoke Goddess Laxmi. Offer lotus flowers, kumkum, and turmeric. Worship the account books (Bahi Khata) and coins (wealth).
Lighting Diyas
Light 5 ghee diyas before the deity. Then light oil lamps and place them around the house to dispel darkness.
Aarti
Perform the Laxmi Aarti ("Om Jai Lakshmi Mata"). Offer Kheel and Batasha as Prasad.

"Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Praseed Praseed
Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Mahalakshmaye Namah"
Meaning: I offer my salutations to Goddess Mahalakshmi, who resides on the Lotus and bestows wealth and prosperity.
